Welcome to the Anxious Girl’s Concert Guide, where we break down everything you need to know about a venue that might not be answered on Google. If you’re like us and want to be prepared going in, you’ve found the right place.

In this edition, we'll cover Boston's newest venue, MGM Music Hall at Fenway, which has a capacity of 5,000 people. You can tell a lot of thought and planning went into this venue, from the incredible acoustics to a bar and bathroom on every floor to the fun lobby designs paying tribute to former Fenway headliners.
How to get to MGM Music Hall
As its name suggests, this venue is right next to Fenway Park in the heart of Boston. It’s accessible from several T stops, including Landsdowne for the Framingham line and Kenmore for the Green Line and bus lines.
This location is also easily walkable from several major points of interest, like the Museum of Fine Arts, Northeastern University, the Prudential Center, Boston University, and the Esplanade.
We’d suggest using public transit or walking if possible, as this area can be high traffic, but driving or taking a rideshare is possible.

Parking for MGM Music Hall
Parking in the Fenway area varies by what other events are happening that day. If your show is the same day as a Red Sox game or other event at Fenway, or if there’s also a House of Blues show, you’ll have more competition.
If you want to park nearby, plan to get there early. Ther are a few garages and independent lots in the area, but they fill up quickly. I typically plan to do a few laps around the nearby streets to check what is open. Note that some of the private lots are cash only.
If you can’t find parking immediately nearby, the Prudential Center almost always has spots in their garage. The prices range, depending on what events are happening that day, from $15-$40 after 5 or 6 pm. You can also plan to park somewhere further out in Boston and take public transit or walk.
Food and Drink at MGM Music Hall
Within the venue are several bars, including ones on both sides of the GA floor and some bars upstairs. When we’ve been there, there are rarely long lines. There are also some VIP sections and a TRULY rooftop bar.
We’d recommend eating before the show as there isn’t any dining in the venue. Nearby restaurants include Landsdowne staples like the Cheeky Monkey and Loretta’s Last Call. A short walk to Boylston St. and Brookline Ave gives you more options, like CAVA, Tatte, honeygrow, and Time Out Market.
What is GA like at MGM Music Hall?
The GA floor has a huge space, and the stage is wide, so the crowd gets distributed out more than in tighter venues. Lines to get in can be long, so get there early if you want to be in the front row, but arriving shortly before doors can still get you a nice view. There are doors to get to the floor on either side of the lobby once you get in, so look on both sides if one line seems particularly long.

What are seats like at MGM Music Hall?
The seated sections are on the second and third floors. There are options for seats with tables on the front of the balcony or theatre-style seats for the rest of the section. This venue is designed well for visibility, and if you don’t have someone incredibly tall in front of you, you should have a great view, even from the back. No seats are further than 110 feet from the stage.

Views from different parts of MGM Music Hall
Here are some photos from our previous times at MGM, from different parts of GA, and the second-floor balcony.
Merch at MGM Music Hall
If you’re planning to buy artist merch, it is usually set up on the right side of the lobby when you enter. There are usually long lines before and after the show as people try to compress into the different areas. Be prepared for the merch line to make its way up the stairs after the show.
If you’re trying to buy merch for an opener or artist with a shorter line, look out for staff members who can escort you to their section of the table.
MGM Music Hall Accessibility
This is one of the newest venues in Boston, and with that comes more accessibility accommodations than many of the older venues have. There are designated accessible seats, ramps, and elevators available for those who need them. According to their website, assisted listening and sign language interpreting services are available; just let them know a few weeks before the show to make arrangements.
