The Band CAMINO Brings the "Screaming In The Dark Tour" to Boston

When you think of the phrase, “screaming in the dark”, what comes to mind? Probably horror movies, haunted houses, or maybe the Rockin’ Rollercaoster at Disney World. Well, thanks to the Band CAMINO, the phrase has a whole new meaning for us over here at Hear Me Out.

CAMINO, comprised of Jeffery Jordan (vocals, keyboard, and guitar), Spencer Stewart (vocals, keyboard, and guitar), and Garrison Burgess (percussion), hit the road this fall, celebrating their sophomore album, the Dark, with a headlining tour named the Screaming in the Dark Tour, alongside openers Charlotte Sands*, the Wldlfe*, and Bad Suns.

The Hear Me Out team made it out to the Boston date at MGM Music Hall at Fenway, one of Boston’s new 5,000 person rooms, located right next to Fenway Park. The line snaked up the block, so get to the venue early if you’re planning on hitting a date!

Charlotte Sands kicked the night off, bringing a fantastic energy to the stage with her opening set. Bad Suns followed, playing through some fan favorites and introducing their newest single “The One I Used to Love”.

And then the Band CAMINO was up. To get the crowd hyped, the stage was decorated with LED panels, splashes of neon paint all over anything inanimate, and blacklights that illuminated it all. The band also designed an incredible light/laser show to go along with the music to elevate the experience even further.

The band opened their 27 song set with “Afraid of the Dark”, the title track off of their new record. From there, the guys played through hits from this new record, their debut album entitled the Band CAMINO, and their previous EPs. Near the middle of the set, Jeffery and Spencer swapped out electric guitars for an acoustic and a keyboard, and treated the crowd to an acoustic session, where they played portions of some fan-requested songs. From there, the electrics were back, along with a killer lineup to end the main set.

After closing with the ever iconic and room-shaking “See Through”, the band left the stage briefly, before returning for a three song encore of “I Think I Like You”, “Berenstein”, and “Daphne Blue”. The energy both onstage and in the crowd was sky high the entire night. Though MGM’s stage is wide, the members of the band moved around the space and interacted with one another, and you could tell just how much they enjoyed being up there together, performing and hanging out with us all. As I roamed the venue, I could see fans dancing and singing along on every level, from the front of the GA pit to the very top of MGM’s third level.

A CAMINO show is always a treat to be present at, and getting to hear so many old classics (did I mention Berenstein yet??? Amazing.) was truly incredible. Did Jeffery call us Philly at one point? Yeah, but it’s fine.

If you’re debating hitting up one of the remaining shows on this tour, I highly recommend it! You won’t regret screaming in the dark alongside thousands of other fans of this truly talented band.
